Evaluation of microstructure and mechanical properties of squeeze overcast Al7075?Cu composite joints

چکیده

Al7075?Cu composite joints were prepared by the squeeze overcast process. The effects of melt temperature, die and pressure on hardness ultimate tensile strength (UTS) studied. experimental results depict that is most significant process parameter affecting UTS. optimal values UTS (48 MPa) (76 HRB) are achieved at a temperature 800 °C, 250 90 MPa. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) shows fractured surfaces show flat-faced morphology condition. Energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis depicts atomic weight percentage Zn decreases with an increase in pressure. mechanical properties joint Al2Cu eutectic phase due to large number copper atoms dispersed into aluminum during solidification formation strong intermetallic bonds. Gray relational integrated Taguchi method was used develop set control variables for multi-response parametric optimization. Confirmatory tests performed validate effectiveness employed technique. manufacturing parameters delivers great indication acknowledge new foundry practitioners manufacture materials superior properties.
